What to Expect:

Unlike visible light therapies such as near-infrared or red light, infrared heat is not seen, it’s felt. This subtle, penetrating warmth works from the inside out, helping to increase circulation, speed up muscle & tissue recovery, and prepare the body for deeper stretching.

  • You will claim one of four spots under Cityoga's infrared heat panels in the orange room
  • No instructor present, this is a self-guided session
  • Soft lighting and supportive props provided
  • The time is yours to rest, meditate, stretch, or journal
  • Phones and other devices must remain outside the practice room. This is meant to be a quiet space for introspection.

How It Works:

  1. Book your 30-minute session online or by calling the studio
  2. Arrive and settle into your space
  3. Stay for one session, or book multiple back-to-back
  4. Once your session is up, the front desk will come in and open the door signaling that your session has ended

Pricing & Terms:

  • Same as a regular yoga class
  • Use a class credit or drop in
  • Members attend free
  • Capacity is limited to 4 participants per session (one per panel)

Infrared Benefits:

Infrared heat therapy works differently from traditional heat. Instead of warming the air, it uses light waves to heat the body directly, allowing heat to penetrate more deeply into tissues. This deeper penetration (especially from far-infrared light) may influence muscles, joints, and even immune responses.

  • Muscle Recovery & Relaxation: Heat helps relax muscles and may speed up recovery after activity.
  • Pain Relief & Mobility: Can help ease chronic pain, joint stiffness, and conditions like fibromyalgia. Users report better movement and flexibility.
  • Skin Health: Both infrared yoga and saunas promote skin health by increasing collagen production and improving elasticity.
  • Stress Reduction: Infrared therapy activates the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress and promoting relaxation. Yoga amplifies this effect by incorporating mindfulness and breathing techniques.
  • Better Sleep: Some people experience improved sleep quality after infrared sessions
  • Improved Circulation: Infrared light increases blood flow by dilating blood vessels. Studies show this can reduce muscle soreness, enhance recovery, and improve overall cardiovascular health.
  • Metabolic Boost Infrared heat raises core body temperature, temporarily boosting metabolism. The active movement in yoga enhances this effect, making it more beneficial for calorie burning compared to a sauna session.
