I'm new to yoga, where should I start?

On our class schedule, you’ll see either a level number 1-3, or All Levels listed next to each class. Level 1 indicates beginner-friendly classes.

Level 1 classes are ideal if you’re brand new to yoga. They move at a slower pace and include detailed instruction on basic postures, alignment, breathing, and relaxation. Props and demonstrations are provided to support your practice.

Mixed Level classes are open to everyone and are typically led by teachers who have completed their 500-hour advanced teacher training. In these classes, teachers offer modifications and guidance, and can be a great place to start if you’re comfortable practicing in a mixed-level group.

Read about all levels here.

How do I sign up?

You can register in advance through our website or Mindbody app. or call the front desk to book (317.920.9642). We also welcome walk-ins, but your spot in class is not guaranteed.

Do I need to preregister for class?

No, you don't, but we highly recommend registering in advance through our website or Mindbody app.

Do you offer hot yoga classes?

We offer warm and heated classes. Our warm classes are set to around 80°F, and our heated classes are approximately 90°F. While temperatures do not exceed 100°F, the room is warm enough to help you work up a good sweat.

Where should I park?

We have a parking lot surrounding the studio and other small business in the building, however parking can fill up quickly especially if the studio is busy. There is ample street parking on Central Ave. and surrounding residential streets. Please plan ahead just in case parking is congested. Be sure to remove all valuables from your car. There is always a risk of break-ins any time a vehicle is left unattended. Leaving items in plain site in your vehicle puts your car and valuables at a higher risk of a break-in.

What should I wear?

You should wear clothing that allows your body to move freely and is comfortable. All of our classes require that you remove your shoes.

What should I bring?
  • If you have a mat, please bring one, although we do have yoga mats you can borrow if you do not have one.
  • Water bottle - we have filtered hot and cold water at the studio
  • Towel (if taking heated class)
  • Any props her prefer (bolster, blankets, blots, straps). We have props at the studio to use, but there is no guarantee there will be enough for every student.
What if I am late to class?

Please plan to arrive at least five minutes before class begins. Classes start promptly, and late arrivals can be disruptive to other students. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you may not be permitted to enter. The opening portion of class is important and often includes centering, grounding, or a warm-up that helps set the foundation for the rest of the class.

What does "late cancel" mean?

Late cancel means you did not cancel within the designated time frame and you were charged for that class, appointment or workshop.

Where can I store my belongings?

There are open cubbies in the lobby area for you to place your belongings. There will always either be staff at the desk or the front doors will be locked to prevent any suspicious activity.

Are there showers?

Unfortunately no. Free face and body wipes and deodorant are provided for your convenience.

Can children or minors join class?

Minors must be at least 8 years of age to attend classes at Cityoga (with the exception of baby & me yoga). Minors must be at least 16 years of age to attend workshops or events at Cityoga that are 2 hours or longer.
